Why a strict blocking system can be more humane than endless self-control.
Motivation
Modern life is tightly integrated with digital devices: laptops, phones, tablets, watches, headphones, speakers, and more. These tools can help us work, communicate, and learn. They can also fill the day with software that is built to keep us looking.
Qwit Block begins from the conviction that people should be able to decide which software they want in their lives. A device should not become a permanent doorway to habits, feeds, games, or sites that the user has already decided to avoid.
The aim is not purity. The aim is practical freedom: fewer reflexive openings, fewer loopholes, fewer decisions made at the weakest moment of the day. A good blocking system should make the desired choice the easy choice.
Why strictness matters
Many blockers fail because they are too easy to bypass. When a block can be removed in a few seconds, it becomes another test of willpower. Qwit Block favors setups where bypassing is difficult enough that the user has time to return to the intention they set earlier.
This does not mean everyone needs the same level of restriction. The system is a starting point. You should adapt it to your own needs, your devices, your work, and your tolerance for friction.
